Ik weet het; te veel Halloween hier op het blog, maar dit snoezige katje en de contrasterende 'creepy' pompoen kon ik niet weerstaan en zijn perfect als Halloweenkaart voor onze dochter en haar kat...

Ik heb 'm niet eerder laten zien omdat ze 'm nog niet mocht bekijken tot Halloween, dus ook na Halloween nog een project in die sfeer hier op mijn blog...

I know; too much Halloween here on the blog, but this cute cat and contrasting 'creepy' pumpkin I just couldn't resist and they are perfect as a Halloween card for our daughter and her cat...

I could not show it here before, because she wasn't allowed to look at it until Halloween, so even after Halloween another project in that 'mood' here in my blog...

Booh!!

Door wat dingen even geen stempel donderdagmiddag vorige week. En erna volgde een week die voorbij als een wervelstorm voorbij vloog met van alles dat moest gebeuren en het weekend ervan genieten dat onze dochter bij ons was. Dus ben ik pas gisteren op de stempel donderdagmiddag weer aan de gang gegaan en heb ik wat gemaakt. En nog even met een Halloween thema, want ik wilde deze stans gebruiken. Het is een van mijn lievelings stanzen, maar ik gebruik 'm alleen in deze tijd. Ik probeer deze dan ook elk jaar weer anders te gebruiken. Deze keer heb ik er twee projecten mee gemaakt, waarvan de kleinste in mijn kleine Art Journal zal verdwijnen...

Through some things we didn't had a stamping Thursday afternoon last week. And after that what followed was a week that flew by like a whirlwind with all the things that had to be done and with our daughter being here for the weekend, So I only could make something on yesterdays stamping Thursday afternoon. And made within the Halloween theme, because I wanted to use this die-cut. It is one of my favorite die-cuts, but I only use it this time of the year. I try to use it different each year. This year I made two projects with it. The smallest of the two will be put in my little Art Journal...

Oké, nog even in de Halloween-sfeer; nu kan het tenslotte nog...

Een van de stempelsets die Josje op een van de stempel donderdagmiddagen meenam was er een met een mooi spinnenweb en deze spookjes. En ja, die moest ik gewoonweg gebruiken... Ook het stencil is van haar en vond ik er wel bij passen...

One of the stampsets Josje brought along on one of the stamp Thursday afternoons was one of a beautiful spiderweb and these ghosts. And yeah, I simply had to use them... The stencil is also hers and I thought it goes wll with them...

Tussen al dat Halloween met heksen en katten en bezems en ketels en spinnenwebben en meer nu een meer gewoon herfst project. Ja wel met bezem, maar die heb je nodig om al die gevallen bladeren en spinnenwebben op te ruimen...

Between all those Halloween items as witches, cats, brooms, cauldrons and cobwebs and more now a more normal autumn project. Yes with a broom, but that is what you need to clear all those fallen leaves and cobwebs...

Heksenkat / Witches cat

Kreeg ik de vraag of ik wat Halloween stempels wilde klaarleggen op een van onze stempel donderdagmiddagen. Nou dat kan en als je dan gaat zoeken kom je veel meer leuke stempels tegen die je ook graag weer eens wil gebruiken... Er is gewoonweg te weinig tijd in een dag om alles te doen wat je graag zou willen...

Op dit project heb ik er dan toch een gebruikt van degene die ik verzameld had. En gelijk ook maar een van de houten teksten gebruikt die nog in een doos in mijn hobbykamer lagen. Die doos is nog niet leeg, dus zo af en toe zal je wat van die houten teksten of figuurtjes op mijn nieuwe projecten tegenkomen.

I got the question 'would I put some Halloween stamps on the table' on one of our stamp Thursday afternoons. Well, that is no problem. And by looking for them I saw so many more fun stamps that I would like to use again... There is just not enough time in a day to do all the things that I would like to do...

On this project I  got to use one of the stamps that I collected. And I used one of my wooden word that was in a box in my little craft room. That box isn't empty jet, so you will see more of those wooden words or images on my new projects.

Soms is het gewoon heel leuk om een fantasie-idee dat je in je hoofd had op papier te zetten... En dat is alles wat ik op dit project deed met wat nieuwe stempels en een nieuw stencil...

Sometimes it is just so much fun to get some fantasy-idea that was in your head on paper... And that is all what I did on this project with some new stamps and a new stencil...

Herfst hortensia's / Autumn hydrangeas

In onze tuin staan heel veel verschillende soorten hortensia's met verschillende bloeiwijzen en kleuren en de bloemen en bladeren verkleuren allemaal weer anders. En ik geniet daar eigenlijk net zo van als van de bloemen en bladeren met hun frisse kleuren in het voorjaar en de zomer... Maar, als ze afgebeeld worden zie je meestal die frisse kleuren en niet de mooie herfst kleuren die ik nu bij ons in de tuin zie. Dus was ik blij dat ik dit stencil nog niet gebruikt had! En ik wilde wat anders dan anders proberen; ik heb met een kwast en water de inkt door het stencil aangebracht op aquarelpapier. Het loopt af en toe iets uit, maar dat vind ik niet erg hierbij. Na het drogen heb ik m'n kleurpotloden gebruikt om meer nuances aan te geven en nog meer diepte te krijgen. 

In our garden are a lot different kinds of hydrangeas with all kinds of different ways of blooming and colors, and the flowers and leaves all change color differently. And I actually enjoy that just as much as the flowers and leaves with their fresh colors in Spring and Summer... But when they're depicted, you usually see those fresh colors and not the beautiful Autumn colors I see in our garden now. So I was glad I hadn't used this stencil jet! This time I wanted to try something different; I used a brush and water to apply the ink through the stencil into watercolor paper. It did bleed a little bit, but I don't mind. After it dried, I used my coloring pencils to add more nuance and some depth.
